[Announcement] I'll be temporarily freezing MarkusTegelane and sister channels

I am officially announcing that the MarkusTegelane channel will go into frozen status.

Which channels are affected?

  • MarkusTegelane
  • MarkusTegelane+
  • MarkusTegelane++
  • MarkusTegelane Community (Discord server)

Why am I doing this?

In recent years, the technical execution process for creating MarkusTegelane videos has become increasingly ambitious, and this has caused a significant drop in the frequency of posting videos (in addition to external factors). Not to mention that some of the newer videos are of variable quality, as I want to stick to at least 1 video per month and sometimes I just have to make compromises to get a video out.

Behind the scenes, things have also been very chaotic, including a non-refined editing process, constant style changes, difficulty finding good video ideas that would appeal to MarkusTegelane channel audience, and other things I don't want to mention here.

This is why I decided to set all of my MarkusTegelane channels to frozen state.

What does this mean?

This means that I won't be posting any new videos for a while, but I also don't plan on deleting any existing videos.

During this time, I might...

  • Reply to comments on my own videos (or add a heart/like)
  • Fix broken links in video descriptions
  • Change video thumbnails
  • Post on other platforms and channels (that don't have the word "MarkusTegelane" in their names)
  • Update websites/software projects
  • Write comments under other creators' videos
  • Change video visibility/metadata (title, description, tags, etc.)

I've put my channels on frozen status before, but it almost always ended in deleting the channel. I can't rule out that this won't happen with MarkusTegelane channels, but I promise you that if I'm going to do it, I'll let you know at least 1 week in advance. Deleting the channel(s) is the last option, I'm trying to avoid this option considering that this is my first YouTube channel.

How long will this period last?

I can't say a specific period at the moment, but the minimum duration is 3 months and the maximum duration is until the beginning of the next century.

What do I plan to do during this period?

  • Analyze the channel's audience preferences/suggestions and YouTube statistics to determine what videos I could make in the future (including discontinuing certain video series, creating new ones, etc.)
  • Create an efficient process for creating videos that would allow for smaller videos to be made in less than a week (including video editing, creating thumbnails, generating descriptions, recording)
  • Create a refined version of the Neoklaas visual identity
  • Change the thumbnails of older videos to align them with the current channel style
  • Create a table of queued video ideas to be made one by one
  • Post more (easier to make) videos to other accounts (whose names do not contain the string "MarkusTegelane")
  • Organize files, delete unnecessary/unused recordings/renderings
  • Be open to collaborations (which do not include interviews or other forms of unprepared communication or showing my face)
  • Create Estonian subtitles for previously published English videos where they are not yet available (or conversely, English subtitles where they are not available)

Deleting the X/Twitter account (for real this time)

Will Windows 10 support end on 14th October 2025?

But just like previously, I will not be making an end of support video on January, but instead be waiting until only a few weeks before the actual end of support. You may be wondering - but why? Windows 11 system requirements are riddiculously high. More precisely for new hardware, such as a TPM 2.0 security chip and new generation processors, which your computer may not have, even if it\'s just 5 years old.
